BRUSSELS (AA) – Turkey's foreign minister met with Thorbjorn Jagland, secretary general of the Council of Europe, on Thursday on the sidelines of a meeting on Syria in Brussels.
“Stressed to @TJagland, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, it is vital that following his example the next SG shows also a constructive attitude towards member States, and maintains dialogue, inclusiveness and fairness as guiding principles, ” Mevlut Cavusoglu said on Twitter.
Cavusoglu also met with UN Special Envoy for Syria Geir Pedersen, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development President Suma Chakrabarti, and his Romanian counterpart Teodor-Viorel Melescanu.
He is expected to meet with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg as well.
In addition to the Syria conference, Cavusoglu is in Brussels to attend a Turkey-EU Association Council meeting on Friday.
