Turkish Airlines to launch Ankara-Rome direct flights

By Zeynep Kahveci</p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's national flag carrier Turkish Airlines (THY) will launch direct flights between Ankara and Rome on Monday.</p> <p>In a statement, Chairman of Ankara Chamber of Commerce Gursel Baran said that after 60 years the Turkish Airlines will again fly directly from Ankara to Rome.</p> <p>&quot;The capital Ankara will be connected to three world capitals in January by direct flights. Direct flights will be made from Esenboga [Airport] to the capitals of Italy, England and Georgia,&quot; he added.</p> <p>Baran said that the direct flights to London will begin on Jan. 9 while the flights to Georgian capital Tbilisi will start on Jan. 18.</p> <p>Turkish Airlines flies to over 300 destinations worldwide with its fleet of 329 passenger and cargo aircraft.
