Turkish aid agency supports education in Libya

ANKARA (AA) – The Turkish International Cooperation and Development Agency (TIKA) opened a new youth center in the northwestern Libyan city of Yefren.

The Yefren Youth Social Education Center and a modern computer lab was completed with coordination of the Libyan Ministry of Social Affairs and Yefren Municipality.

This center was opened with the help and support of TIKA. “We would like to thank TIKA for this. We hope that cooperation will continue in other areas as well, ” Yefren mayor Hussein Kafo told Anadolu Agency.

Established in 1992, Turkey's government-run aid agency is responsible for implementing Turkey's developmental cooperation policies overseas.

The agency carries out development cooperation activities in 170 countries via its 61 program coordination offices in 59 countries across five continents.
