ANKARA (AA) – Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) has provided food aid to 3,500 orphans in Albania, the agency said in a statement Wednesday.

TIKA said the food aid has been delivered in different parts of Albania in cooperation with the Albanian Alternative Foundation of the Future.

A ceremony was held in the Albanian capital Tirana for the occasion.

Speaking at the event, Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj said TIKA had always supported Albania.

“We were together when there was a flood, we were together when we built kindergartens, planted trees, and built playgrounds, ” Veliaj said.
