Turkey's tourism revenues may reach $100B: Company head

By Gokhan Ergocun</p> <p>ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's tourism revenues can reach $100 billion by 2023 with the digitalization of tourism companies, said a technology and tourism firm head.</p> <p>&quot;We should promote our tourism sector in a proper way, we have to raise tourism revenue per visitor from $670 to $1,000,&quot; Ramazan Becer, the head of digital technology and tourism firm CRM Group, told Anadolu Agency.</p> <p>Turkey can host tourists from high income groups by taking steps in the tourism sector to ensure customer satisfaction, Becer said.</p> <p>He underlined that the digital transformation of tourism companies would provide better marketing opportunities and more customer satisfaction.</p> <p>&quot;Thanks to digital technologies, tourism companies can provide more quality services for customers by learning their food, entertainment and accommodation preferences.&quot;</p> <p>Becer said several tourism companies have either no websites or with those failing to meet the requirements of the digital world.</p> <p>&quot;Tourism firms should have social media accounts, communicate with customers and follow the new technologies,&quot; the firm head urged.</p> <p>He reminded that customers learn every detail via online platforms before their visits.</p> <p>Besides digital technologies and advertising, Becer said, call centers also bear great importance in the tourism sector.</p> <p>&quot;The key factor is a synchronized and optimized working for a successful marketing process,&quot; he stressed.</p> <p>Becer said the customer companies' revenue of CRM Group raised at least 25% thanks to digitalization.</p> <p>Turkey hosted around 39.5 million visitors and earned $29.5 billion revenue last year. The country targeted to host 50 million tourists in 2023.
