Turkey's poultry production narrows in November

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's poultry production fell year-on-year in November 2018, the country's statistical authority announced on Thursday.

Hen egg production in the month was 1.67 billion, up 0.1 percent compared with the same month previous year, TurkStat said in a statement.

Chicken meat production decreased 2.5 percent on a yearly basis to reach 174,483 in November last year.

It added that turkey meat production slipped 1.1 percent during the same period.

The number of slaughtered chickens also fell 1.5 percent while number of slaughtered turkeys rose 10.2 percent, over the same period.

The statistical authority will release next the poultry production report on Feb. 13.
