Turkey's medal winning wrestlers visit Anadolu Agency

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's medal winning wrestlers Taha Akgul and Suleyman Atli visited Anadolu Agency headquarters in the capital Ankara on Wednesday.

Akgul and Atli were decorated with silver medals each in the 2019 World Wrestling Championships held in the Kazakh capital Nur-Sultan.

Anadolu Agency's Director General Senol Kazanci and Deputy Director-General and Editor-in-Chief Metin Mutanoglu hosted the wrestling pair.

Kazanci expressed his proud for the achievements of Turkey's national athletes in Kazakhstan.

He also voiced his hope that "Turkish athletes will make their people happier in Tokyo 2020 Olympics.”

Akgul, who also claimed a gold medal in the 2016 Summer Olympics, bagged silver medal in the men's 125kg, meanwhile Atli won silver in the men's 57kg category in Nur-Sultan.

Turkish wrestling team's coach Abdullah Cakmar also joined Akgul and Atli in the visit.

Last week another Turkish wrestler Riza Kayaalp visited the Anadolu Agency.

The four times world and eight times European champion Kayaalp won a gold medal in men's Greco-Roman 130kg final in Kazakhstan.
