Turkey’s junior wrestler bags gold medal

ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's Zeynep Yetgil on Friday won the gold medal at the Junior European Wrestling Championships in Rome, Italy.

Competing in women's 53 kg category, Yetgil defeated her Azerbaijani opponent Tatyana Varansova and won the title.

Asli Demir, another Turkish wrestler who competed in women’s 65 kg category, defeated her Hungarian opponent Noemi Szabados 5-3 to bag the bronze medal.

Turkey, as a team, bagged one gold, two bronze and three silver medals in total and became third after Russia and Ukraine.
