MOSCOW (AA) – Thursday's trilateral summit in Sochi, Russia will reinforce efforts for a peaceful settlement in Syria, according to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Greeting Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan before their one-on-one meeting, he remarked that “active, coordinated work ” will help to achieve their goals.
“I am convinced that we will be able to give new impetus to the establishment of an inter-Syrian dialogue, ” he said.
“If we work actively and in close coordination and look for compromises on the situation in Syria, we will be able to achieve our goals. ”
Later today, during the trilateral summit, the two leaders along with Iranian President Hasan Rouhani will discuss further efforts towards a peaceful settlement in Syria.
