Turkey's defense minister meets Kazakh counterpart

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s Defense Minister Hulusi Akar met his Kazakh counterpart on Wednesday.

Akar welcomed Kazakhstan’s Defense Minister Nurlan Ermekbaev with a military ceremony in the capital Ankara.

After the ceremony, the two ministers held a closed-door meeting.

Akar also spoke to his French counterpart Florence Parly over phone upon the latter’s request, according to a ministry source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The two ministers discussed bilateral relations in defense, regional developments, Libya, Syria as well as counter-terrorism issues, the source added.
