ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index climbed 0.51 percent to close at 91,156.88 points on Wednesday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index started the day at 91,031.58 points and gained 459.91 points from Tuesday's close of 90,696.97 points.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 5.5050 at close, up from Tuesday's close of 5.4950.
The euro/lira rate increased at close to 6.3150 versus 6.2780 at the previous close.
One British pound traded for 7.0240 Turkish liras, while the GBP/TRY rate was 7.0090 at close on Tuesday.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, the price of one ounce of gold was around $1,281.00 by market close, down from $1,283.00 the previous day.
The price of Brent crude oil rose to $60.44 per barrel as of 6 p.m. (1500GMT) Wednesday, versus $58.15 at previous close.
