By Gokhan Ergocun</p> <p>ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index rose 0.24 percent or 222.28 points to open at 92,449.60 points on Tuesday.</p> <p>On Monday, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 1.57 percent to close the day at 92,227.32 points with a daily trading volume of 4.43 billion liras ($857 million).</p> <p>The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate increased to 5.3240 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT), compared with Monday's closing rate of 5.3060.</p> <p> </p> <p>The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 6.0530, versus 6.0590 at the last close. One British pound traded for 6.7060 Turkish liras, as the GBP/TRY exchange rate was 6.7110 by market close on Monday.</p> <p>The price of Brent oil dropped to $60.03 per barrel as of 10.00 a.m. local time (0700GMT) Tuesday, versus $61.11 on Monday's closing.
