Turkey's Borsa Istanbul flat at weekly open

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index opened the week at 1,433.96 points on Monday, up by 0.07% or 1.03 points from the previous close.

At Friday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index rose 0.34% to 1,432.93 points, with a daily trading volume of 14.3 billion Turkish liras ($1.65 billion).

The US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 8.6800 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, up from 8.6720 at the previous close.

The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate was 10.5500, versus 10.5580, while one British pound traded for 12.2500 Turkish liras, down from 12.3320 at the last week's close.

One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $71.22 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
