ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index went down 0.43 percent to close at 94,347.66 points on Monday.
Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index fell 411.98 points from Friday's close of 94,759.64 points, while it started the day at 94,477.37 points.
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate rose to 6.2860 as of 5 p.m. local time (1400GMT) Monday, while the USD/TRY closed last week at 6.1350.
One euro traded for 7.3550 Turkish liras by market close, compared with 7.1620 at Friday's close.
The GBP/TRY exchange rate was 8.2890 at Monday's close, while one British pound traded for 8.0540 Turkish liras at the previous close.
In Borsa Istanbul's Precious Metals and Diamond Markets, one ounce of gold traded for $1,197.50 by market close on Monday, down from $1,205.00 at the previous close.
As of 6 p.m. local time (1500GMT), the price of Brent oil stood at $78.33 per barrel — hovering between $77.85 and $78.90 during Monday — climbing from around $66 at the beginning of 2018.
