ANKARA (AA) – Turkey's benchmark stock index was down 1.01%, or 1,151.64 points at 112,532.38 points on Monday.
On Friday's close, Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index went down 1.94% to close at 113,684.01 with a daily trading volume of 14.5 billion Turkish liras ($2.4 billion).
The U.S. dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate stood at 5.9740 as of 9.30 a.m. local time (0630GMT) on Monday, down from 5.9750 at Friday's close.
The euro/Turkish lira exchange rate saw 6.6670, versus 6.6610 , and one British pound traded for 7.8310 Turkish liras, while it was 7.8440 at the previous close.
One barrel of Brent crude oil sold for around $70.17 as of 10 a.m. local time (0700GMT).
