By Fatih Hafiz Mehmet</p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – Turkey Thursday warned against any action that would would harm the national accord in Libya amid the recent military escalation in the North African country.</p> <p>Military commander Khalifa Haftar on Thursday launched a campaign aimed at capturing the capital Tripoli, where Libya’s UN-backed unity government is headquartered.</p> <p>In a written statement, Hami Aksoy, Foreign Ministry spokesman, said Turkey closely follows the recent military escalation in the west of Libya.</p> <p>"It is important to avoid attempts that would harm the spirit of national accord in Libya," the statement stressed.</p> <p>"We believe that the present division in Libya can only be overcome through intra-Libyan dialogue," it said.</p> <p>The statement said Turkey supports the UN-facilitated National Conference which is planned to take place in Libya's Ghademes on April 14-16.</p> <p>It added that the conference presents an opportunity for eliminating the ongoing disputes in the country.
