Turkey to face Greece in Olympics basketball qualifiers' semis

ANKARA (AA) – The Turkish National Basketball Team will take on Greece in the semifinal of the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Canada on Saturday.

Greece beat China 105-80 on Thursday to end Group A in the runners-up position, which meant the Greeks will take on Turkey in the semifinals in Victoria, Canada.

Giannoulis Larentzakis scored 21 points to be the key player for the Greek victory over China.

Turkey won Group B, beating Uruguay and Czech Republic.

Fierce rivals Turkey and Greece will fight for the final at Victoria Memorial Arena.

In the other semifinal tie, Canada will play against the Czech Republic on Saturday as well.

The final will be on Sunday, and the tournament’s winner will book a ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, set to start on July 23.
