ANKARA (AA) – Turkey said Friday that a PK terrorist neutralized in mid-September was identified to be on the nation’s wanted list.

On Sept. 14, the local gendarmerie forces neutralized five PKK terrorists in the eastern Van province.

Among them were Bayram Baskala, code-named Artos, who was inscribed on the wanted terrorists list of the Interior Ministry.

Baskala had been sought with a bounty of 300,000 Turkish liras ($52,800) on his head, according to the ministry.

In a written statement, the ministry also said Baskala was responsible for many terror attacks, including the one in 2016, which martyred a gendarmerie staff and two security guards in Van.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
