ISTANBUL (AA) – The Turkish Central Bank is expected to keep interest rates constant this week, according to a panel of economists surveyed by Anadolu Agency on Tuesday.

On Thursday, the bank will hold its fourth Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) meeting this year to announce its decision about interest rates.

Among 20 economists surveyed by Anadolu Agency, 19 economists expected no-change in one-week repo rate, while one predicted an increase of 100 basis points.

According to its schedule, the bank will hold 12 MPC meetings this year.

In its last meeting, the bank increased the one-week repo rate by two percentage points, from 17% to 19%, above market expectations.
