Turkey remands 4 Daesh/ISIS terror suspects

By Omer Ertugrul

YOZGAT, Turkey (AA) – A local court in central Turkey remanded four Daesh/ISIS suspects in custody on Wednesday as the country's war against terrorism continues.

Detained on Tuesday in a police operation in Yozgat, the suspects — all are Iraqi nationals and including a senior member of the terror group — were put in jail upon the order of penal court of peace on duty.

In 2013, Turkey became one of the first countries to declare Daesh/ISIS a terrorist group.

The country has since been attacked by Daesh/ISIS terrorists multiple times, with at least 10 suicide bombings, seven bomb attacks, and four armed attacks that killed 315 people and injured hundreds more.

In response, Turkey launched anti-terror operations at home and abroad to prevent further attacks.
