By Fatih Erel</p> <p>ISTANBUL (AA) – Turkish wrestlers in men's freestyle and Greco-Roman categories finished at the second place in the 2019 European Wrestling Championships in Romania.</p> <p>Turkish wrestlers won 16 medals — 6 golds, 2 silvers and 8 bronze — in the 2019 championship which ended on Sunday night.</p> <p>With 16 medals, Turkey bagged its highest ever number of medals in the European Wrestling Championships. </p> <p>Turkey won two golds, one silver and two bronze medals in men's Greco-Roman category and three gold, one silver and three bronze medals in men's freestyle.</p> <p>Turkey's Riza Kayaalp won his ninth European title and eighth in a row, while Taha Akgul claimed his seventh and Yasemin Adar won his fourth.</p> <p>Turkish wrestlers in women's freestyle also won a total of one gold and three bronze medals in the tournament and ranked third.</p> <p>
