Turkey: New members appointed to 2 judicial bodies

ANKARA (AA) – The Council of Judges and Prosecutors appointed new members to two judicial bodies on Monday.

The Court of Cassation received 100 members and the Council of State got 12.

The appointments were made in accordance with the statutory decree no. 696, which foresaw the appointment of more members in order to decrease the work load in these institutions.

Four more members are to be appointed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, according to the decree.

Work will be divided at the Court of Cassation and the Council of State, as the new members start their duties.

The names of the new members will be shared on the website of the Council of Judges and Prosecutors.
