ANKARA (AA) – Turkey has launched operation Claw-Eagle against terrorists, the Defense Ministry announced early Monday.

The ministry said on Twitter that Turkish fighter jets have destroyed caves where the terrorists took shelter. It did not specify the exact location of the operation.

The statement said the caves collapsed on the terrorists.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK – listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the US and the European Union – has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women, children and infants.
