ANKARA (AA) – Turkish security forces have seized 150 kilograms of explosives during an operation against the terrorist PKK group in Turkey's southeastern Mardin province, the local governorship said Monday.

The operation was conducted on Saturday in the Harmankaya neighborhood of Omerli district, Mardin governor's office said in a statement.

An improvised explosive device was also seized during the operation.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.
