ANKARA (AA) – Turkish consumers' confidence in the country's economy fell in September, down 13.2 percent on a monthly basis, Turkey's statistical authority announced Thursday.

The consumer confidence index stands at 59.3 this month, while the index was 68.3 in August, TurkStat said.

The index value is figured out in cooperation with TurkStat and the Central Bank by measuring tendencies of consumers.

Last month, the consumer confidence index decreased by 6.5 percent from 73.1 in July.

Since the beginning of this year, the index value has remained between 73.1 and 59.3 — the highest in July and the lowest this month.
