Turkey condemns terrorist attack in Mali

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey has condemned a terrorist attack in the West African country of Mali on Monday which killed at least 25 Malian soldiers.

"We are saddened by the terrorist attacks that took place in Mali against a military camp in Boulkessi and military troops in Mondoro, claiming many lives and leaving several soldiers and civilians injured," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement Wednesday.

"We condemn these heinous attacks, wish Allah’s mercy upon those who lost their lives, a speedy recovery to the wounded, and offer our condolences to the brotherly people and Government of Mali," the statement added.

According to the Malian government, at least 25 soldiers were killed and 60 others are missing after a suspected al-Qaeda-linked attack targeting two army camps in central Mali.
