Turkey condemns terrorist attack in Iraq

By Can Erozden</p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – Turkey on Tuesday condemned a bomb attack in Iraq that killed two people and injured 13 others.</p> <p>“We have learnt with great sorrow the deaths and injuries as a result of a bomb attack in Talafar […] today (25 December),” the Turkish Foreign Ministry said in a statement.</p> <p>“We strongly condemn this abhorrent terrorist attack, our condolences to the brotherly people of Iraq, especially our Turkmen citizens of Talafar, and wish speedy recovery to the wounded,” the statement said.</p> <p>Turkey will continue to support Iraq's fight against terrorism and its efforts to ensure lasting peace and stability in the country, it added.</p> <p>Earlier, two people were killed and 13 others injured in the car bombing in Iraq’s majority-Turkman Tal Afar district.</p> <p>Located in Iraq’s northern Nineveh province, Tal Afar sits roughly 60 kilometers west of provincial capital Mosul.</p> <p>As of Tuesday afternoon, no group had claimed responsibility for the deadly car bombing, although the Iraqi authorities typically blame such attacks on the Daesh terrorist group.
