Turkey beat Thailand in women's volleyball

ANKARA (AA) – Turkey on Thursday defeated Thailand 3-1 in Pool F in the FIVB Volleyball Women’s World Championship in Osaka, Japan.

According to a statement by Turkey's Volleyball Federation, the Turkish team — dubbed “Filenin Sultanları ” (Sultans of the Net) — finished Pool F fifth after defeating Thailand.

Turkey — competing in Pool F against the U.S., Russia, Thailand, Azerbaijan, Italy, China, and Bulgaria — was eliminated after being defeated by the U.S. team on Monday.

Being ruled out from the third round, Turkey played their last match in the pool against Thailand.

Japan is hosting the world’s best 24 teams in six different cities in the tournament from Sept. 29-Oct. 20.
