Turkey: 7 terrorists neutralized in SE anti-terror ops

ANKARA (AA) – At least seven terrorists were neutralized in counter-terrorism operations in Turkey’s southeastern provinces of Mardin and Sirnak on Tuesday, the army announced on Wednesday.

According to the official website of the Turkish Armed Forces, three PKK terrorists in Mardin’s Nusaybin district and four terrorists in Sirnak were neutralized in counter-terrorism operations.
The news pushed up the number of terrorists neutralized in recent operations in Nusaybin to 298, and in Sirnak the number rose to 260.

During operations in another southeastern province, Hakkari, various weapons and ammunition were confiscated, said the website.

The PKK – also seen as a terrorist organization by the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015.

Since then, over 400 members of the security forces including troops, police officers and village guards have been martyred and more than 3,700 PKK terrorists killed in operations across Turkey and northern Iraq.
