Turkey: 35 PKK terrorists 'neutralized' in a week

ANKARA (AA) – Turkish security forces have neutralized 35 PKK terrorists — including two senior operatives — during nationwide operations during the past week, said Turkish Interior Ministry on Monday.

Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply the terrorists in question either surrendered, were killed or captured.

In its more than 30-year terror campaign against Turkey, the PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of nearly 40,000 people, including women and children.

The ministry also said that 445 suspects were arrested for aiding and abetting the terrorist organization and having links to the terror group.
