ANKARA (AA) – Turkish football club Trabzonspor extended its contract with defender Joao Pereira for one more year.
"He is an important footballer of this structure. Every football player who served us with a sense of belonging for a long time has a place here," the club's chairman, Ahmet Agaoglu, said in a statement.
Pereira joined the team from Sporting Lisbon in 2017.
The 36-year-old defender said that he would do his best for Trabzonspor.
"Promising that I will always be a part of this place and I will run and fight until the last drop of the term for the prestige of Trabzonspor," he said.
With his 105 appearances in Trabzonspor, Pereira scored three goals and made 16 assists.
