Top Turkish officials remember Ottoman victory in WWI

By Gozde Bayar</p> <p>ANKARA (AA) – Turkey’s top officials on Monday commemorated 103th anniversary of the historic Ottoman army victory over British forces during the World War I.</p> <p>“We commemorate heroic martyrs and veterans on the 103th of Kut al-Amara victory, one of the unique history that our ancestors made,” President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Twitter.</p> <p>Also on Twitter, Vice President Fuat Oktay, Presidential spokesman Ibrahim Kalin, and Presidential Communications Director Fahrettin Altun remembered the martyrs of Kut al-Amara siege with respect.</p> <p>The battle of Kut al-Amara took place during World War I between the Ottoman Army and British-Indian forces in the town of Kut, which is now in modern Iraq.
