ANKARA (AA) – Taiwanese puppeteers staged a special show in Turkey's capital Thursday as part of an international puppet festival.

The Flying Group Theatre performed The Birth – a Taiwanese-French joint production – as part of the 4th International Ankara Puppet Festival.

The festival features groups from across the world, including France, Austria, and Bulgaria.

Before the performance, Yaser Tai-Hsiang Cheng, the head of Taipei's Economic and Cultural Mission in Ankara, thanked the audience.

“I want to give my greatest appreciation to the organizers of this meaningful program, ” he said.

“Today, we will show one of the best puppet show groups from Taiwan. I hope you will enjoy it.”

Jung-shih Chou, the creator of The Birth production, said it is part of a trilogy that shows the three phases of life: birth, growth and death.

“It is a mixture of eastern and western culture,” she said before the performance.
