Over 40 PKK/KCK suspects arrested in nationwide raids

             By Huseyin Yildiz</p>    <p>ANKARA (AA) - Turkish police arrested over 40 PKK/KCK suspects for their alleged links to the terror group in nationwide anti-terror operations on Wednesday, security sources said.</p>    <p>Out of total, 27 terror suspects were arrested in the eastern Van province, the local police said. </p>    <p>The suspects were allegedly preparing for street demonstrations to mark the arrest of PKK’s jailed so-called leader Abdullah Ocalan.</p>    <p>In the northwestern province of Kocaeli, anti-terror squads nabbed nine PKK suspects.</p>    <p>Meanwhile, a joint operation of police and special forces saw the arrest of six others in the central Kayseri province.</p>    <p>Arms, terror group-related documents, and ammunition were also seized in the raids.</p>    <p>Separately, in the eastern Igdir province, the gendarmerie arrested a PKK suspect, who was fugitive for eight years.</p>    <p>The suspect Mehmet Hanifi Kaya was sought for armed terror group membership.

130 Syrians leave Turkey for terror-liberated homeland

             By Gokhan Yilmaz</p>    <p>ISTANBUL (AA) - Some 130 Syrians living in Istanbul have left Turkey to return to their hometowns liberated from terrorists in Turkey’s anti-terror operations.</p>    <p>The Syrians, who fled the internal conflict in their country and sought refuge in Turkey, had applied to Esenyurt District Governorate and collected necessary documents to return to terror-free homeland.</p>    <p>An organization of Esenyurt Municipality and Directorate General of Migration Management provided the Syrians with busses for their journey back to their homes.</p>    <p>Esenyurt Mayor Ali Murat Alatepe told reporters that returns to Syria have gained momentum after the region became more secure following two successful cross-border Turkish operations into Syria since 2016 -- Euphrates Shield and Olive Branch operations -- to eradicate the presence of YPG/PKK and Daesh terrorists near Turkey’s borders.</p>    <p>Alatepe said that the municipality helped some 4,200 Syrians to return to their hometowns.</p>    <p>Syrian families, expressing happiness of returning to their motherland, thanked Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Turkish people.</p>    <p>On Saturday, Turkish Interior Ministry said that nearly 300,000 Syrians returned to their homes after the Turkish military conducted the successful operations in the region.

Turkey 'neutralizes' 17 PKK terrorists over past week

ANKARA (AA) – At least 17 PKK terrorists have been "neutralized" in counterterrorism operations across Turkey over the past week, the Defense Ministry said Friday.

Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.

In a statement, the ministry said the anti-terror operations were conducted between Nov. 2- 8 in the eastern and southeastern Turkish provinces of Tunceli, Mus, Diyarbakir and Hakkari as well as in northern Iraq.

During the operations, 71 terror shelters and 33 improvised explosives and mines were destroyed, while security forces seized 19 hand grenades, 24,250 kilograms (approx. 53.5 pound) of explosive materials, 109 kg (approx. 249 Ibs) of ammonium nitrate, seven guns and 14 rounds of rocket launcher ammunition.

Turkey neutralizes 45 terrorists over past week

ANKARA (AA) – At least 45 terrorists including two so-called senior figures have been neutralized in counter-terrorism operations across Turkey over the past week, the country’s Interior Ministry said Monday.

Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.

The ministry said in a statement that a total of 2,143 anti-terror operations were conducted between Oct. 29 and Nov. 5.

A total of 25 terrorists were killed, 10 were captured, while another 10 terrorists surrendered to Turkish security forces, the statement said.

Selim Demiroglu codenamed Firat Celi, who was on the orange category of the Interior Ministry's wanted list and Ilyas Karakoc codenamed Baran, who was being sought on the gray category – were among the neutralized terrorists.

The wanted list is divided into five color-coded categories, with red as the most wanted, followed by blue, green, orange and gray.

Security forces also arrested 740 people for aiding and abetting terror organizations, 3,698 people for crimes linked to drugs and smuggling and 139 others for human trafficking crimes.

In nine provinces, 38 shelters of the terrorist organization and 15 improvised explosives and mines were destroyed, while security forces seized 42 hand grenades, 895 kilograms of explosive materials, 29 guns including long-barreled weapons and 746 rounds of ammunition.

As part of anti-narcotics operations, security forces also seized over 6 tons of drugs across the country.

3 PKK terrorists neutralized in eastern Turkey

BINGOL, Turkey (AA) – At least three PKK terrorists have been neutralized as part of anti-terror operations in eastern Turkey, said officials on Thursday.

9 PKK terrorists neutralized in Turkey, N.Iraq

ANKARA (AA) – At least nine PKK terrorists have been neutralized as part of anti-terror operations in eastern Turkey and northern Iraq, said officials on Sunday.

According to an Interior Ministry statement, six terrorists were neutralized in the eastern provinces of Bingol, Agri, and Tunceli.

One of the terrorists, identified as Mehmet Sirin, codenamed Poyraz Agir, had been on Turkey's most wanted terrorist list.

During operations in Bingol's Karliova district, one soldier was also martyred and two were injured, said a statement by the Bingol Governorship.

Separately, three more terrorists were neutralized in Avasin-Basyan, northern Iraq, according to the Turkish General Staff.

Turkey: 47 PKK terrorists 'neutralized' over past week

ANKARA (AA) – At least 47 PKK terrorists were "neutralized" as part of anti-terror operations across Turkey over the past week, the country’s Interior Ministry said on Monday.

Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.

In a statement, the ministry said the Turkish Armed Forces carried out 2,218 ground and air operations on Aug. 6-13.

The ministry said 35 of the terrorists were killed, three captured, and nine others surrendered to authorities.

During the operations, 128 people were arrested for allegedly aiding and abetting the PKK terrorist group and 39 others for their suspected links to the Daesh terrorist organization.

Also, another 312 people were arrested over the past week for suspected links to the Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO), the group behind the July 2016 defeated coup, which martyred 251 people and injured nearly 2,200.

Four more people were arrested for their links to leftist terrorist groups, according to the statement.

Security forces also destroyed three terrorist shelters, including several caves, and seven improvised explosives during operations in the eastern and southeastern provinces of Tunceli, Hakkari, and Bitlis, the statement said.

In addition, security forces seized 31 hand grenades, 39 assorted weapons, and 1,329 rounds of ammunition.

During the operations, security forces also arrested 483 suspects for crimes linked to terrorism, and 124 others for human trafficking, while 3,489 people were held for crimes linked to drugs and smuggling.

Additionally, 2,725 anti-drug and contraband operations arrested 477 suspects, the statement read.

The raids also led to the seizure of 1,899 kilograms (4,186 lb.) of heroin, some 7,961 pills or other forms of illegal drugs, and over 23 tons of smuggled oil.

2 PKK terrorists neutralized in eastern Turkey

ERZURUM/ANKARA, Turkey (AA) – Two PKK terrorists have been neutralized as part of anti-terror operations in eastern Turkey, the provincial governorship said on Wednesday.

Turkish authorities often use the word "neutralized" in their statements to imply that the terrorists in question either surrendered or were killed or captured.

According to a statement by Erzurum Governorship, security forces launched the operation in Karayazi district on Monday.

Two terrorists were neutralized during the operation while a security officer received minor injuries.

A silencer gun, two rounds of a magazine, two thermal cameras, hand-made explosives and various materials including cables, umbrellas and sleeping bags were also seized during the operation.

The anti-terror raids against PKK terror group continue resolutely, the statement added.

Turkish Armed Forces also conducted airstrikes in northern Iraqi regions of Hakurk and Zap, the General Staff said in a statement on Wednesday.

Tuesday’s airstrikes destroyed shelters, weapon emplacements and ammunition depots used by PKK terrorists, the statement added.
