Swedish minister hails 'heroic' Turkish taxi driver

By Atila Altuntas</p> <p>STOCKHOLM (AA) – The Swedish minister congratulated a Turkish-born taxi driver in Sweden on Friday for lending his credit card to a customer who forgot their own while trying to catch a flight at the airport.</p> <p> &quot;We will build a stronger and warmer society thanks to people like Omer Temel. I thank him for this sensitive behavior,&quot; said Energy and Digital Development Minister Andres Ygeman, in a radio program together with Temel.</p> <p> On Thursday, Temel received an award of 13,000 Swedish krona ($1,360) from his company for his &quot;heroic&quot; action.</p> <p> Last week, Temel made headlines in Sweden for giving his personal credit card to a customer who had forgotten their wallet while heading to the airport for three-days business trip to Germany.</p> <p> Temel was hailed a hero for his action and hailed by both Swedish and Turkish people.</p> <p>*Writing by Beyza Binnur Donmez
