BAGHDAD (AA) – At least three people were killed on Wednesday in a suicide bombing in the Iraqi capital Baghdad, according to security and medical sources.

A bomber detonated his explosive belt at a security checkpoint in al-Shoalla in northern Baghdad, a security source, who preferred to be unnamed due to restrictions to speaking to media, said.

Health Ministry official Ihsan Radi said three people were killed and seven others injured in the bombing.

There has been no claim of responsibility for the attack.

On Tuesday, at least eight people were killed in a spate of bomb blasts in the Iraqi capital.

Iraqi authorities often blame the attacks on Daesh group, which overran vast swathes of territories in northern and western Iraq in 2014.
