Serbia win gold in Volleyball European Championship

ANKARA (AA) – Serbia bagged the gold medal in the CEV Men's Volleyball European Championship on Sunday by beating Slovenia 3-1 in the final.

Serbia managed to defeat Slovenia with 19-25, 25-16, 25-18 and 25-20 to lift the European Cup at AccorHotels Arena in Paris.

Serbia scored the trophy in this tournament for the second time since 2011, while Slovenia were defeated in the final again following their loss in 2015.

The tournament is being co-hosted by France, Belgium, Slovenia, and the Netherlands through tomorrow.

Turkish referee Erdal Akinci was among the referees who officiated the final game.
