TRENTON, Canada (AA) – A second plane with 188 passengers from Wuhan, China, arrived Tuesday at Canadian Forces Base Trenton.

They join 174 Canadians who were evacuated Friday from China, and 39 who left on an American plane, bringing the total to 401.

“Passengers were met in Trenton by Canadian Border Services Agency officers and were thoroughly assessed upon arrival by quarantine officers from the Public Health Agency of Canada,” the government said in a statement. “None of the passengers exhibited symptoms of the novel coronavirus upon arrival.”

The first group to arrive were given rooms at the Yukon Lodge, a modern hotel-like facility that can accommodate 290. The rest will be installed in Hastings Hall, a less modern but serviceable building, officials said.

The new arrivals will be quarantined 14 days from arrival, as is the first group.

China said 108 people who had the virus died as of Monday, bringing the total to 1,106, and 42,638 have been infected.

Outside China, there have been to date 319 cases in 24 countries.

But while scientists race to find an antidote and the causes chaos worldwide, the number of influenza cases per year runs from three to five million, while anywhere form 290,000 to 650,00 die.

Canadian Finance Minister Bill Morneau warned the coronavirus will have a “significant impact” on Canada’s economy because of China’s powerful influence on economies.

As well, criminal groups are trying to use fear to attack the world shipping industry.
