Revolutionary Guards clash with ‘terrorists’ in SE Iran

By Ahmet Dursun

ANKARA (AA) – Military officials on Friday reported fierce clashes between Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) forces and armed “terrorists” that left four of the latter dead.

In a statement, the IRGC said a “terrorist group” had attacked a security checkpoint early Friday in the town of Mirjaveh in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan Province near the border with Pakistan.

Four of the attackers were reportedly killed in the subsequent firefight and another two injured.

In a similar incident — also in Mirjaveh — earlier this year, three militants were killed in clashes with IRGC forces.
