Poland's Swiatek advances to French Open women's final

ANKARA (AA) – Polish teen Iga Swiatek on Thursday qualified for the 2020 French Open final in women's singles.

Swiatek, 19, thrashed her Argentine opponent Nadia Podoroska with the sets of 6-2 and 6-1 in the semifinals in Paris.

This will be Swiatek's first Grand Slam final.

Swiatek has been playing in the four majors — Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and US Open — since 2019.

The Polish athlete will face either US player Sofia Kenin or Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in the final on Oct. 10.
