ANKARA (AA) – A delegation of members of the Paraguayan media on Tuesday visited Anadolu Agency’s headquarters in Turkey's capital Ankara as part of a program organized by the Turkish Communications Directorate.

The 12-member delegation, including prominent members of Paraguay's media, met with Metin Mutanoglu, Anadolu Agency’s deputy director-general and editor-in-chief.

Telling the group about Anadolu Agency’s activities, publication languages, goals and international structure, Mutanoglu noted that it produces news in 13 languages, including Turkish and English.

He highlighted that Anadolu Agency is among the world's most important press institutions, underlining that it started broadcasting in Spanish from its office in Colombia's capital Bogota in 2017.

Mutanoglu stressed that the agency aims to reach nearly 600 million people through its Spanish news and hopes to make Turkey's voice heard in these regions.

He pointed to the historical similarities between Turkey and Paraguay despite their geographical distance.

The delegation also briefed Mutanoglu about their contacts in Turkey.
