Palestinian protester shot, injured in occupied W. Bank

By Qais Abu Samra</p> <p><br></p> <p>BETHLEHEM, Palestine (AA) – A Palestinian man was shot and injured by Israeli troops in the southern West Bank, an Anadolu Agency correspondent based in the area reported Thursday.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The injured man, who has yet to be identified, was reportedly taking part in a protest to condemn the death earlier Thursday of a Palestinian woman at the hands of a Jewish settler.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The woman was reportedly run over by the settler in the town of Tuqu, located 12 kilometers southeast of Bethlehem.</p> <p><br></p> <p>The incident sparked a demonstration outside the town, which Israeli troops reportedly dispersed with teargas, rubber bullets and live ammunition. </p> <p><br></p> <p>Roughly 600,000 Israeli settlers live on 250 Jewish-only settlements built across the West Bank, which Israel occupied in 1967.
