JERUSALEM (AA) – A Palestinian man was shot dead by Israeli forces on Monday after an alleged attack on soldiers in East Jerusalem while three were injured during raids around the West Bank city of Nablus.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA said Mustafa Nimer was shot dead and a passenger injured when Israeli forces fired on his car in the Shuafat refugee camp, claiming he attempted to attack them with the vehicle.

WAFA also reported that three Palestinians were injured by Israeli gunfire during raids on the Balata refugee camp in Nablus and the nearby town of Sabastya.

An Israeli military spokesperson told Anadolu Agency forces fired on a crowd after “riots erupted” during an operation to uncover weapons manufacturing facilities.

Palestinian Authority official Ghassan Dhaglas said Israeli forces also closed roads south of Nablus to protect Israelis using the main route near the city, causing disruption for Palestinians trying to go to work and school in the morning.

The Israeli military said it was not aware of any road closures.

Palestinian news agency Ma’an also reported that Israel forces overnight Sunday sealed off a village in Tulkarem, a district in the northern West Bank, after local youth had thrown stones at an Israeli vehicle.
