ISLAMABAD (AA) – Pakistani scholar and president of the International Islamic University, Zafar Ishaq Ansari, has passed away at the age of 84.
The scholar died of a heart attack on Sunday. He was buried in the Pakistani capital Islamabad following the al–Asr (mid-afternoon) prayer. Hundreds of people attended his funeral.
Ansari wrote numerous books and articles on history, religion and social sciences. His father Maulana Zafar Ansari was also a well-known scholar in Pakistan.
