ANKARA (AA) – Nine PKK terrorists have been killed in security operations in eastern Turkey’s Mardin and Sirnak provinces Sunday, Turkish military said Monday.
In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said seven PKK terrorists were killed in southeastern Mardin province’s Nusaybin district.
Two PKK terrorists were killed in a separate operation in the southeastern Sirnak province.
Several weapons were seized during the operations, the statement added.
The PKK — listed as a terrorist organization by Turkey, the U.S. and the EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015. Since then, more than 430 security personnel have been martyred and more than 3,800 PKK terrorists killed.
