Nine PKK terrorists killed in eastern Turkey operations

ANKARA (AA) – Nine PKK terrorists were killed in security operations in eastern Turkey’s Mus, Mardin and Sirnak provinces Wednesday, Turkish military announced Thursday.

In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said three PKK terrorists were killed in southeastern Mardin province’s Nusaybin district.

Four PKK terrorists were killed in a separate operation in southeastern Sirnak province.

Also, two terrorists were killed in eastern Mus province’s Varto district.

The latest operations in Nusaybin and Sirnak bring the total number of PKK fatalities in those two areas to 631 since start of security operations there on March 14.

Several weapons were seized during the operations, the statement added.

PKK — listed as a terrorist organization also by the U.S. and EU – resumed its 30-year armed campaign against the Turkish state in July 2015. Since then, more than 430 security personnel have been martyred and more than 3,800 PKK terrorists killed.
