DAKAR (AA) – Turkey’s new ambassador to Senegal Tuesday called on the Senegalese president in the capital Dakar to present his credentials.

President Macky Sall welcomed Ahmet Kavas, and accepted his letter of credence.

Kavas was appointed as ambassador to the West African country in April this year.

Turkish-Senegalese relations have gained a momentum in recent years in political, economic and cultural fields. Bilateral trade volume reached $292 million in 2019.
