Nearly 400 undocumented migrants held in Turkey

EDIRNE, Turkey (AA) – Security forces on Wednesday held 393 migrants during anti-human trafficking operations in Turkey's northwestern province Edirne, security sources said.

The undocumented migrants were held as they attempted to cross into Greece and Bulgaria, said sources who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

The migrants were nationals from Morocco, Eritrea, Pakistan, Palestine, Syria and Afghanistan, the sources added.

Gendarme units and border guards conducted operations in Ipsala and Meric districts, and Orhaniye, Bosnakoy and Yenikadin villages.
