NBA: Young, LaVine duel as Bulls beat Hawks in 4OT

ANKARA (AA) – In the highest scoring game of the 21st century in the NBA, the Chicago Bulls defeated the Atlanta Hawks 168-161 in 4 overtime.

Trae Young of the Hawks (49 points, 16 assists, 8 rebounds) and Zach LaVine of the Chicago Bulls (47 points, 9 assists, 9 rebounds) battled out as Bulls were the victorious team.

In the regular time, Trae Young hit a 3-pointer with 2.2 seconds to go to give his team the lead with 124-121. However, Bulls' Otto Porter was fouled immediately after during a 3-point attempt, sending him to the free throw line.

Porter hit all the free throws to level the score 124-124, sending the game to the first overtime.

In the first three overtime periods, no team managed to build a solid lead over the other, paving the way for a fourth one.

Bulls managed to beat Hawks 168-161, marking the 4th most highest scoring game in the NBA history with 329 points.

The highest scoring game in the NBA happened in Dec. 13, 1983 when the Detroit Pistons beat the Denver Nuggets 186-184.
