Mythbusters co-host Grant Imahara dies at 49

ANKARA (AA) – Grant Imahara, longtime co-host of the popular Discovery Channel science series MythBusters, has died. He was 49.

"We are heartbroken to hear this sad news about Grant. He was an important part of our Discovery family and a really wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family," the US television network said in a statement.

A channel spokesperson, meanwhile, told TMZ news website that Imahara died of brain aneurysm.

The electrical engineer was part of the MythBusters team from 2005 to 2014. He also co-hosted Netflix’s White Rabbit Project for a season in 2016.

"I’m at a loss. No words. I’ve been part of two big families with Grant Imahara over the last 22 years," former MythBusters star and co-host Adam Savage said on Twitter. "Grant was a truly brilliant engineer, artist and performer, but also just such a generous, easygoing, and gentle PERSON. Working with Grant was so much fun. I’ll miss my friend."
